Americans for the Arts Marketing Conference

Last year I had an opportunity to photograph the National Arts Marketing Project conference on behalf of Americans for the Arts. I provided photography services for this conference and tradeshow event at the Portland Hilton over four days, covering various aspects of the event including keynote speakers, educational sessions, networking events, a couple parties, and more. I really enjoy the opportunity to make both candid and staged event photos, and had a great time working with their staff in the downtown Portland Hilton and Gerding Theater for their event.

Here are a few photographs from the event.

If you have a conference, trade show, or other Portland event coming up soon, drop me a note and let’s talk about some Portland conference photography!

Nathan: Portraits of a Small Business Owner

I really enjoy working with other small- to mid-sized businesses in the Portland area. A few weeks back I was able to make a few portraits for Nathan who runs a small software business.

Portland Executive Headshot

Nathan was looking for a few images for various professional purposes. This included a traditional studio-style headshot as well as some portraits that showed off a bit of Portland. We incorporated a bit of the Portland waterfront with the iconic Steel Bridge in the background for one of the photos (shown below).

This allows Nathan to provide a serious, formal photo for those serious purposes as well as a few more relaxed images for his website, social media, or other informal occasions.

Portland Executive Headshots: Carolynn

I was contacted by Carolynn a couple months ago about an executive headshot for her Portland-based business. When she contacted me we had to find a good time to schedule her portrait; she’d recently been fielding interviews from Forbes and the Wall Street Journal. A current portrait was in order for her various publicity needs.

As with many of my clients I arrived at her office for the portrait session, utilized my portable backdrop and lighting equipment to set up a small studio environment, and made Carolynn’s portrait.

A studio portrait look doesn’t mean you have to leave your office or house – with a variety of portable backdrops and lighting gear, I’m able to bring a studio to you, making your headshots or other portraits as simple as possible with minimal disruption to your schedule.

Amye – Portland Portraits

I’ve recently seen an uptick in portrait photography around Portland, and I enjoyed my opportunity to photograph my friend Amye. Our portrait session involved a few poses and lighting styles as I worked with both some tried-and-true techniques as well as a few experimental ones.

Corporate Employee Service Event: Comcast Cares Day 2012

Last month I again had the opportunity to photograph Comcast Cares Day, an annual event where the communication company’s employees hit the community en masse to perform a variety of service projects. I’ve photographed this event for several years now in the Portland area and this year I covered a couple different sites. At Tryon Creek State Park, the group pulled a bunch of invasive English Ivy, while at a middle school, employees painted walls and performed a bunch of landscaping duties.

I’d be happy to tell the story of your organization’s event. Contact me and let’s get started.
