Hi there, I’m Aaron Hockley. I use photography to tell stories and share imagery of the world. I love working with businesses, organizations, and individuals to provide top-notch photographs that can empower them to share their story and reach further towards their goals.
Having been in the professional photography field since 2008, I’m based in Vancouver, Washington (just outside Portland Oregon), and I work with a variety of photographic generes, whether that be business portraits or headshots, photographs of events, or other commercial work. My clients include high-tech conferences, theater-style speaking events, fundraising parties, a medical office, a multi-billion dollar communications company, a leader in the cloud hosting market, and a variety of individuals and couples.
My goal is to know my clients and create images which help tell their story. Each client is unique and I bring my technical and artistic skills to your situation.
I’ve been recognized for my work, most notably:
- 2015 World Photographic Cup: Commercial Photography Finalist representing the United States
- 2015 Professional Photographers of America Grand Imaging Awards: 3rd Place Commercial/Illustrative Image
- 2014 Oregon Professional Photographers Association President’s Award for service to the photographic community
In early 2017 I was awarded the Photographic Craftsman (Cr.Photog.) degree from the Professional Photographers of America.
Contact me and let’s work together
In addition to specific work for clients, I also license my work for other purposes.
I’m a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and adhere to their code of ethics. I believe in professionalism while working with others – but that doesn’t mean we’re not going to have fun. I’m the 2017 President of the Oregon Professional Photographers Association, a state PPA Affiliate that provides professional development for serious photographers.
When not creating images for clients, I enjoy traveling, creating various images as I wander around. In November 2011, I published Alcatraz Views, a collection of images and stories from “The Rock.”
